Automations and utilities: simple tools that save time
Scripts, applications, Excel macros, command-line utilities: I build tools that do in seconds what you currently do by hand.
A selection of ready-to-use products will be offered in the shop being published; for a specific need, on quote.
Why custom tools
- Time saved on repetitive handling of documents, images and data.
- Reliability: the same result on every run, fewer copy errors.
- Confidentiality: tools designed to work offline, your files stay with you.
- No subscription: you own the tool delivered.
- Simple delivery: script, application, workbook or executable, with its user guide.
- Adaptable: formats, rules and layout defined with you, on quote.
Five types of products
Each type answers a different need. I choose with you the simplest one that solves your problem.
Small system scripts
The need: a repetitive task on a workstation or server (rename, sort, copy, back up, clean up) that is redone by hand or forgotten.
Benefits: time saved, identical result on every run, offline operation, no subscription, simple start-up.
Who for: freelancers, small businesses and technical teams who want to make routine tasks reliable.
Delivery: Python, Shell or PowerShell script, with a short user guide.
Example: automatically sort files into folders according to a rule.
Standalone applications and executables (.exe)
The need: a tool that anyone can launch, without installing a programming language or touching a command line.
Benefits: starts with a double-click, simple interface, offline operation (your files stay with you), no subscription, processes many files in a row.
Who for: trades that handle many documents or images, and teams without technical skills.
Delivery: desktop application or standalone Windows executable, with its documentation.
Examples: merge PDF files, convert images in bulk.
Excel / VBA macros and tools
The need: Excel workbooks that are copied, formatted and consolidated by hand every week or month.
Benefits: you keep Excel, your files and your habits; buttons chain the manipulations, calculations are made reliable, copy errors decrease; no subscription.
Who for: small businesses, administrative departments, accountants and managers who already work in Excel.
Delivery: workbook with macros, delivered with a user guide.
Example: gather several sheets or files into one tracking table.
Command-line utilities
The need: run a specific process, sometimes on hundreds of files, quickly and reproducibly, possibly from a scheduled task.
Benefits: fast processing in a single command, dry run possible before launching, report of the files processed, originals kept, offline operation, no subscription.
Who for: people comfortable with a terminal, administrators, teams who want to chain the tool into their own processes.
Delivery: command-line tool or standalone Windows executable, with built-in help.
Example: shrink a whole folder of photos before publication.
File and data transformation scripts
The need: data that arrives in an unsuitable format (software export, API response, mismatched files) and has to be flattened to be used in Excel or another tool.
Benefits: reliable and repeatable conversion, output that opens directly in Excel, less retyping, offline operation, no subscription.
Who for: anyone who retrieves exports or structured data and loses time reworking them.
Delivery: script or executable, depending on use, with a sample file and a user guide.
Example: turn a JSON export into a CSV table for Excel.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I find ready-to-use tools?
A selection of ready-to-use products will be offered in the digital products shop, currently being published. For a specific need, I build the tool on quote.
Do my files leave my computer?
My utilities are designed to work offline: your documents and data stay on your machine. The exact behaviour is specified for each tool.
How much does a custom tool cost?
Each build is offered on quote, after an initial discussion about your need. No price is displayed and there is no subscription.
How are the tools delivered?
Depending on the type: script, desktop application, Excel workbook with macros or a standalone Windows executable that does not require installing Python.
Can a tool be adapted to my case?
Yes, that is what the quote is for: formats, naming rules, columns, layout. Whatever is added is defined and validated with you.
Is a text-recognition tool 100% reliable?
No: text recognition sometimes gets it wrong, especially on poor-quality scans. I design such tools as data-entry aids, with human checking and unrecognised fields flagged.
A tool to adapt or create?
Describe your repetitive task in a few lines and I will tell you which type of tool fits and how to build it.
